Actually this is not a great topic at all, its just a minor alert for all of us to configure proxy properly and ensure the security policies.

So here is the story begin ...

Today ... when im on idle mode, without certain purpose im checking webserver logs, and find a bunch of ip accessing my site, instead of saving the logs, i try to search for open proxy ip or some misconfigured' proxy server.

with little usefull tools like 'tcpping' im start to pinging ip address list with well known proxy ports using this simple command thru ms-dos prompt : tcpping [ip-address] port

so ... what information we have there ?

it means that host (125.162.xxx.xxx) are accepting tcp connection from port 8080, which is port 8080 usually used as web-proxy port, then ... i add that ip to my web browser proxy configuration, as the result is ...  yet another open proxy, this is 'whatsmyip' screenshot ;

its easy isn't it ? it's so simple ... so imagine what next ? what happens if someone with more advance skills trying to take advantage of this 'misconfiguration', unless you are donating your bandwith for free , you gotta make sure this is not your proxy server, above of all ... thank God is not my server.

How to create Yahoo! id from others country ? sometimes we need to create e-mail under other country domain for various reason, For good reason only im writing this simple howto.

Yahoo! standard url format : https://login.yahoo.com/config/mail?.intl=[country-code]&.src=ym

to create Yahoo! id under others country domain, you must know the [country-code] first, as the example : im creating a Yahoo! id under Malaysian domain, as we all known Malaysian domain us 'MY' country code, so ... to create Malaysian Yahoo! id, i put this url in my browser :

https://login.yahoo.com/config/mail?.intl=my&.src=ym

to proceed with account creation, please choose "daftar" in english "sign-up".

provide contact information required, then continue to choose 'Buat Akaun Saya' in english 'Create My Account'.

Proceed to account creation process and continue this process to complete new account creation, you will automatically logged in to your new Yahoo! mail account when this process finished.
